TITLE

Enbankment Belt

ABOUT

The idea for this mural was inspired by the shape of the wall itself — a long, continuous rail of the underpass, perfectly suited for interpreting the traditional national belt motif. Rather than merely replicating the pattern, I wanted to reimagine it in a contemporary context.

I built the composition with precision: defining the central section, adding framing elements, and carefully arranging the details to bring harmony to the whole piece. Through overlapping lines, I created the illusion of depth — the belt appears to hover above the wall, giving the work a light, almost woven texture. The paint drips, resembling the flow of water-based pigment, enhance this painterly quality.

Once a neglected surface covered with random graffiti, the wall has now become my modern reinterpretation of national ornamentation — a subtle fusion of heritage and street art. With this work, I hope to show that graffiti and muralism can also be seen as a form of contemporary folk art.
