ABOUT
Of course, the greatest pride of Elektrėnai is its lake. That’s why, for the very first mural in this city, I decided to focus on this theme.
My idea was to inspire the men of Elektrėnai to start building boats. In Britain and other places surrounded by water, this is nothing new — but here, it could become something unique and meaningful. I’d love to see this craft develop locally, perhaps even grow into friendly competitions or a small tradition of boatbuilding — something we don’t yet have in Lithuania.
So this mural carries a message of creativity and initiative. Symbolically, it’s about preparing for a journey — setting sail.
I don’t often ‘paint’ in the traditional sense when creating murals, but this time I allowed for more freedom — visible brushstrokes and a touch of illustration in the overall composition.
