TITLE
Diptych after Varnelis
ABOUT
My friend Oskaras Kazlauskas invited me to paint their rented garage in a prime location — right in the heart of the Kaunas Yacht Club, surrounded by a beautiful pine grove and the gently flowing waters of the Kaunas Reservoir.
For this modest boathouse, I created a diptych inspired by the style of Lithuanian émigré artist Kazys Varnelis. One panel features the Gediminas columns, while the other spells out “LTU” as a nod to Lithuania.
This patriotic piece, with its strong visual impact and optical play, draws the eye and invites passersby to stop, take a photo, and explore the details of the composition.
