My second work trip to the Netherlands took me to the city of Heerlen.
It was quite an experience to create art in a completely new environment — where nothing is familiar, from paint suppliers to materials and local logistics.

After several meetings with community members, the concept for this metal wall mural began to take shape: a “strong community.” Each figure stands on another’s shoulders, while at the same time holding hands — symbolizing unity, mutual support, and an unbreakable, continuous pattern of connection.

This mural is part of the Murals for Communities project, funded by the Creative Europe Programme.
