ABOUT
The idea for this mural came from the technical property of spray paint — dripping. Normally, paint drips are seen as a flaw or a mistake in the work, but here the entire composition is built around that very feature.
Although it may seem like a simple approach, there are a few examples in art of layering colors horizontally in this way. The pattern effect unfolds as more lines and colors overlap, creating a textile-like rhythm. To enhance this rhythm, one side of the passage was painted in black and white, while the opposite side features four primary spectrum colors to preserve their original intensity. The wavy lines emphasize the sense of flow and liquidity.
The dripping effect also connects symbolically to the local habit of staining or defacing the passage — the mural playfully and ironically comments on this behavior and the negative impression it leaves.
