Description
As I developed as an artist, I often heard that there is nothing truly new to create, and that any idea you have has already been done by someone else—as if art were a kind of innovation championship. I strongly disagree. I see countless ways to explore and discover. Even when we don’t always find something entirely new, the act of exploring and revisiting ideas can bring greater depth and richness to the work.
In 2015, I began my focused exploration of painting as a medium. Since then, I have been developing this style. Cut parts of the canvas, combined with shadows, colors, and shapes, open up endless possibilities for composition. What you see here is only a small selection of the many sketches I have created.
As one of my solo exhibitions was called “PNG Canvases”, it pretty much defines what it’s about: cut pieces of canvas, just like in a PNG digital image format where you can have a transparent background—here, you can see the background, the wall.
